Frisia is a Kayaking club that has been founded in 1948. At that time it consisted of just a handfull of people but over the years it has grown into a club with more than one hundred active members.
One of the reasons for this success must be Frisia’s location. The ‘Amsterdamse Bos’ is ideal for kayaking. But that’s not all. At a few peddle strokes away you can enjoy kayaking on the ‘Bosbaan’, the Ringvaart, the ‘Nieuwe Meer’, the ‘Poel’ or even on the canals in Amsterdam!
The clubhouse is located in a beautiful spot right on the water of the ‘Amsterdamse Bos’ and is equipped with extensive kayak storage facilities, large changing rooms and showers.
In addition, we have a well-equipped gym and kayak ergometers. So you can stay fit during the winter period. Finally, you can always cool off at Frisia with a drink at the bar or share your stories during a game of pool.
Frisia welcomes everybody that would like to start or continue their kayaking journey. You can easily become a member by using our online registration form.
Would you rather first try and see if kayaking is something for you? No problem! At Frisia you can try kayaking the first few times without any obligations. We offer a trial period of one month. Come to the training sessions during opening hours or send an email to for any questions you might have!
